How did you end up in the advertising industry?
I first wanted to be a lawyer. I interned a local big name and global, and it was just quite, closed doors. I met several people who gave me great advice and one of the ladies I spoke to recommended me to a program called MAIP since I was a communication major as well. I applied and got accepted to BBBC in NY, but I was hesitant on taking it since it was away from home. But I went and I made a great decision. I choosed account management because of several social events I went to someone from Hill Holliday mentioned how I would do great in accounts. So from there I made my decision to really commit to advertising and account management. After my internship in NY, it was there that I knew I can see myself doing this in my future.
What's the craziest thing that has happen at work?
One of the highlights of working at Digitas is that they so many parties and events. I decided to participate in the Holiday dance show and I ended up winning the dance party. I don’t know how, but I won and our CEO, Tony Weisman presented me with my metal. That was such a highlight of my time here at Digitas. I was the first one to get one.
Are there a set of characteristics that we all have in advertising?
It depends on what your capability is. But with accounts we all have many things in common. We are people persons, and love making list and being organized. It’s important to be in good terms with anyone.
If you were to tell someone about your job who isn’t in advertising?
We are like the jugglers. We handle many hats but mainly we are the bridge from the client to agency. It is my job to know everyone on the team and connecting the client with internal team and also internal team with the whole team. We are at the middle where all internal and client touch the accounts team. It’s so hard to describe what I do because everyday is different. And if you’re not up for that, then you are not ready for account management.
What keeps you motivated in the working field?

I feel like since you get used to all the work you have to do that you get committed to it and end up looking forward to. I know look forward to kicking off creative, or launching banners. But what keeps me motivated is looking at the big picture of the projects.
What are some things that excites you about your job?

I love that I never know what’s going to happen the next day. Like my jobs day is very dynamic. If I was doing the same things everyday, I will be bored. This week I’m doing rich media work, but last week I was working with banners. I think more common since I work in a digital space since things are always changing. Also the people, I am so lucky to being on this team. Everyone is so smart and hardworking but also very fun. We are a work hard and play hard mindset. We have parties and go to Red Soxs games.
